Chameleon Net wins British Library web project  (20/07/2010)

London digital agency, Chameleon Net, has won a five-way pitch to redevelop the online presence of the British Library’s development arm.

Chameleon Net will be revamping the Library’s philanthropic giving website in a project designed to build closer relationships with supporters and donors. The new site will also bring the work of the Library to life in the context of giving options, which include one-off gifts, regular gifts, legacy gifts, adopting books, becoming a Friend of the Library and other methods, such as patronage and funding major projects.

Stakeholder engagement and user testing will be integral to the redesign process to ensure that the new site meets the needs and expectations of the British Library’s supporters, donors and other web visitors.

Head of Individuals and Major Donors at The British Library, Pamela Stephenson, is also looking forward to the renewal of the Library’s fundraising web presence. “Our new website will enable us to engage more with our supporters and we believe that Chameleon Net will create an interesting and dynamic site for us.”

Dan Martin, Director of Strategy at Chameleon Net, is delighted to be working with The British Library, which holds 14 million books among its archive of some 150 million items. “The British Library’s access to knowledge is unparalleled,” he said. “Communicating this to users and supporters is key in helping to continue the Library’s essential work, such as important acquisitions, research, preservation, digitization and more.”

The project is due to go live in Autumn 2010.
