New Age publisher reaches out to consumers online (29/11/08)
The UK division of international mind, body and spirit themed publisher, Hay House, is due to launch a comprehensive new online shop.
The publisher will transform its online presence to create an exciting online experience for its growing band of readers and event bookers.
Web solutions firm Chameleon Net, is creating a complex ecommerce solution that incorporates ticket purchases for Hay House's live events together with books and other non-book items in a single basket. As well as being able to place pre-orders for forthcoming titles, visitors will have access to a huge amount of new material about authors, books and events, with the content tagged so that Hay House can create a unique and relevant journey for each user.
Future phases of development are planned, including networking tools within the site that will allow registered users to interact directly with each other and with Hay House authors.
Chameleon Net's Jeremy Davis explains, "We're applying all our best practice e-commerce know-how gleaned from years of experience in working with British and International publishers. The site mechanics also feature an "intelligent booking engine", which reduces internal administration and ensures that no event or workshop session can be oversold."
Hay House's Adam Harvey adds, "The website is designed to create a community for our fast-growing network of customers. We are looking forward to using the Content Management Solution to continuously maintain the site and, once launched, the plan is to create a sophisticated digital marketing campaign based around the website featuring PPC, SEO, e-marketing, social networking."
A strategic, pre-Christmas launch is planned and Hay House is projecting a three-fold increase in online ordering volumes through the new site.
