New website for National Academy for Parenting Practitioners   (05/02/08)

The Academy - Logo

The National Academy for Parenting Practitioners is a national first. Funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, the Academy helps to empower parenting practitioners by establishing a central evidence base and resource from the latest research findings, information, and best practice as well as providing a unified professional voice.

The Academy's new website www.parentingacademy.org, developed by cutting edge web agency Chameleon Net, will play a crucial role in the establishment of the Academy as the focal point for this professional community. Currently in its first phase, the site offers parenting professionals a wealth of information relating to their field of expertise, as well as the opportunity to get involved.

The website is community-centred, with a flexible content management system that will allow the Academy's members content editing abilities. The platform will provide a strong foundation for the higher functionality of phases two and three, which will include features such as blogs, forums, wikis and a Dublin Core document library.

Jeremy Davis, Key Account Manager at Chameleon Net, commented: "We are very pleased to be involved in such an important national drive for the empowerment of parenting practitioners. The internet has become an essential tool of such geographically disparate groups, with online communication and information sharing now so advanced. The Academy website will evolve with the needs of its users, providing them with the perfect base for their community."
